Brief History
Hope For Indigent Persons
“We make a living by what we get but make a life by what we give”
– Winston Churchill
Hope for Indigent Persons is a noble and deep seated initiative to care for people experiencing extreme poverty in our broken world. It is a nonprofit organisation registered under Section 501(c) (3). It was born out of the intense need of people dying from both hunger and treatable diseases due to lack of good nourishment and affordable health care.
The founders were moved by the death of many young women who continue to depend on local and untrained ‘midwives‘ for child delivery. We are driven by the passion to help prevent other people from experiencing tragedies that are totally avoidable. We have deep commitment to support marginalised persons, particularly indigent children from single parent households and their mothers.
Our long years of service as missionaries in the Caribbean and the United States of America, especially with indigent populations gives us the impetus and deep commitment to support this group of people.
